A chipboard consists of glued and pressed wood chips. In this way, wood that is not suitable for the production of solid furniture can still be used in furniture manufacturing. This makes chipboard the material that conserves our natural wood resource the most. Furniture made from chipboard is often either plastic-coated or veneered. However, it can also have other coatings – such as leather or fabric – making it well-suited for items like chairs or benches.

Plastic coatings are applied to the panels in layers in the form of films. Various color effects can be depicted, and different types of wood can also be simulated for the furniture.
